Freelancer.com is another huge jobs site with tons of writing jobs available. It’s a great idea to get yourself set up on this platform, so you can start picking up jobs that pay hundreds of dollars a day. 

Here’s what you need to do to start. You can sign up using their mobile app or use the web. Either way, you can join for free. In this tutorial, we will walk you through signing up through the website. 

Your first step is to go to Freelancer.com then click ‘Sign Up.’

You can sign up using your Facebook account, or you can enter a separate email address. Enter a password (if you go with the email option), and check the box to agree to the terms. Then click ‘Join Freelancer.’

Now choose a username, then click ‘Next.’

On the next screen, choose ‘Freelancer’ as your account type, then move on to selecting your skills. Here you can select up to 20 skills that reflect your abilities. If you want to change your category choice, click the ‘Back to categories’ button to make your selection. 

On the next screen, you will have the opportunity to upload your profile photo. Remember to use a picture that shows you in a professional light. Ensure that it’s cropped to head and shoulders size, with your face clearly visible. 

Complete the rest of your personal information, then move on to the next screen.

Freelancer has both free and paid plans. The paid plans give you access to more opportunities, but there is a monthly fee. If you opt for a paid plan, you need to verify your payment information here.

If you plan on sticking with the free plan, you can simply skip forward to the next screen. 

If you are interested in the paid plan, you can opt for a 14-day trial. This gives you a chance to check everything out without paying a cent. 

But even with a free plan, you can create a profile, select projects you are interested in, upload a portfolio, and receive project notifications. You can bid on up to 8 jobs a month and discuss project details with employers.  

Once you’ve made your choices, you will be directed to the last page of the registration process, where you can complete your profile.

Once this is submitted, you are in good shape with Freelancer. You can check out the latest Freelancer jobs in our database and apply for ones you like. There are lots of great jobs on this platform, so you can do very well!
