LinkedIn is the social network for professionals, so it makes sense to look for writing jobs here. If you want to cut to the chase and go after top jobs with top companies, LinkedIn is the way to go.

To find work using LinkedIn, you’ll first need to create a free account and set up your profile. Go to LinkedIn.com and click ‘Join Now.’

This will take you to the sign-up page, where you can enter your email address and choose a password. Then click Agree & Join. Alternatively, you can sign up using your Google account.

On the next page, enter your first and last name.

You may be asked to complete a quick security check, to verify that you are a real person. This is easy and only takes a moment.

Once you’ve passed the security check, you are ready to start filling out your profile. Check that the details shown are correct, then click ‘Next.’

Enter your most recent job title, then click Continue.

As you complete each field, another will appear. Just add your Employment Type, Most Recent Company and Industry when prompted. Then click ‘Continue.’

The next screen will tell you that a confirmation message has been sent to your email address:

Check your email and look for a message from LinkedIn. Open it and click the link (if you do it this way, you won’t need the PIN number).

A new browser window will open, and LinkedIn will ask if you are looking for a new job. Of course, you will say ‘Yes!’

On the next page, enter the details of the kind of job you are looking for. This will be writing jobs, of course.

On the next page, you have the option to let recruiters know that you are looking for work. This will bring you more opportunities, so best to leave this switched to ‘On.’ Then click ‘Done.’

You will be taken to your dashboard, where you will already have a list of possible jobs waiting for you. That’s it...you are on your way to finding high-paying jobs on LinkedIn!
